What an insane day! The fact that I got woken up at 6:30am this morning because my alarm didn’t go off at 5:30am was the start to an absolutely hectic, but fun day! After arriving at Nova Paintball Field at 07:25am (at least not the last person/team to pitch up), but we won’t mention names (cough… Revolution.. cough, cough).
The day started out with players signing indemnities and getting together for a briefing of the day. The day kicked off slightly late with the first game starting at 08:30am (not 08:00am), but games ran like clock work and the teams played extremely well today, with many games going into a third round to decide on the winner. The new live scoring system worked well and player’s scores throughout the day were tracked perfectly.
Switching over to PSP Rules is a process, but with every event we hold, we are getting better and better at it. The atmosphere and honesty of players during the day was great, and noteworthy as well as calls that were made by marshals were fair.

Hi everyone!
I think we are all still thawing out after one of the coldest days I have ever experienced in South Africa. I have honestly never spent an entire day freezing my pants off like many of us did on Saturday when the cold front that came from the Cape was in full force, bringing ice cold bitter winds and temperatures.

Field layout for Event 3.
Just a reminder to all as we had a comment from someone who said “Would have been great if thats how the layout looked on the day”… These layouts are a representation of what bunkers will be there. The measurements of distance are accurate as each block on the layout = 1m, but the software for designing the layouts does not have ALL the bunkers that EVERY different field has, so we have to improvise. Woule be great to get the software that SupAirBall use, but even then I am not sure if they would have every bunker out there.
Thanks Everyone!
Hi Everyone!
In preparation for the next RPL tournament I would like to give you all the 411 on the the Wolwebos field, it’s location and any other information.
Wolwebos is situated in Bronkhorstspruit… yes it’s a real place and NO you do not need a passport to get there lol. Bronkhorstspruit is located about 50Km outside of Pretoria on the N4 Witbank Highway or if coming from Johannesburg, one would use the N12 Witbank highway coming from Benoni and at a distance of 75Km. From Pretoria this is about a 30 minute drive, and from Jhb about a 50 minute drive, but well worth it.

Once upon a time at a paintball field not so far away… and on a super chilly May morning, the first SARPL 5-Man event hosted at Nova Paintball in Pretoria got off to a fantastic start, all 10 registered teams arrived on time, ready and raring to sling paint! After a quick morning briefing, Mr. “OOUUTT!!” Johan van Niekerk and his crew of Marshals were on site for the day to ensure that any rules were explained correctly and to take control of match proceedings.

Hi Everyone, (Pics in the gallery – click here)
what an exciting weekend of paintball! Saturday the 7th May 2011 set the stage for the 18 RPL Open Division teams to get their game faces on and show their mettle at Nova Paintball field in Pretoria. The slightly more technical field layout meant that players needed to think fast and and move just as fast to rack up the wins. Games were generally very quick, and it still remains a fact that the level of play in the Open division is getting better and better. We were treated to all sorts of amazing games and tactics by the teams as well as the most spectacular fail bail I have ever seen in paintball EVER by one of the players from team Kaotic. I really hope the guys from Corrosion who were on the scene to catch it on video will upload the clip for all of us to see. I’m serious, we thought this oke snapped his neck!
The RPL also introduced a new challenge on Saturday for the fastest game time, which earns that team free entry for the next tournament was first set by the Werewolves with 24seconds, and then beaten in the last few rounds of the day by team Paint Job with a winning time of 23 Seconds, only 1 second faster! Well done guys! Then, thanks to team EspirE, another fun challenge was introduced to the day, where as many players get placed on either side of the field as are willing to take part, I stand under correction but I think we had 14 vs 14 on a 3-Man field! Insane!
