Player Classification: (SARPL) – 2013
SARPL will be using the PSP Classifcation system to determine in which Division a player must compete.

A rough guideline:
Open (3-man only): Experienced players who have competed at South Africa’s top tournament levels and have a ranking of D3 or higher. Players from any ranking can play in this division. This division is for players that play more for fun in 3-man, but whose focus is 5-man.
Div 3 (5-man): Experienced players who have competed at South Africa’s top tournament levels. Pro level players that have not been playing for at least 2 years may request to compete in Div 4 unless their APPA classification states otherwise.
Div 4 : Players with experience in the sport and some tournament experience, or have completed a full season in any tournaments in any given team with a ranking of D4 or lower. Ideal for players with own speedball gear that wish to compete for a complete season and work towards a professional classification.
Div 5: Player that are new to tournament paintball and with little experience in the sport or who has a ranking of D5 or lower. Ideal for players with speedball gear, but will mainly compete in 3-man events.
Div 6: Mechanical Markers only for brand new players that want to experience tournament level paintball, but who don’t want to commit to a full season. ROF – semi automatic. 200 paintball per round limitation.
Player classifications get’s monitored via the APPA website which the SARPL uses for all event registrations and player classifications.

3-Player Format: Players can play in team can be ranked one division higher than the division the team is playing in. Sandbagger’s (Higher ranked players who play in a lower division) will be eliminated from the tournament. Div 3 teams may use players from a lower or higher division as it is the highest division in the league at the moment).
5-Player Format: One player in a 5-Man Div 3 or 4 team can be ranked one division higher than the division the team is playing in. Sandbagger’s (Higher ranked players who play in a lower division) will be eliminated from the tournament. Div 3 teams may use players from a lower or higher division). Players in other leagues must get classified by the SARPL before playing in an SARPL event.
Getting reclassified: A player that has extenuating circumstances may be reclassified by filing a Reclassification Request with the league.
